FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY: The Fire Protection Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service operations and team for a company's fire protection systems division. This includes managing technicians, scheduling work, ensuring quality control, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

LOCATION: Ledgewood, NJ

SALARY: $77,000 - $90,000

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a team of fire protection service technicians who inspect, test, maintain and repair fire alarm, sprinkler and suppression systems
  • Schedule service calls and preventative maintenance visits for customers in an efficient manner
  • Ensure service work is completed correctly, on time and to customer satisfaction
  • Oversee quality control processes and documentation for service reports
  • Respond to and resolve any customer complaints or issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain inventory of service truck stock and equipment for technicians
  • Hire, train and develop skilled fire protection service technicians
  • Achieve service revenue and profitability targets for the service department
  • Cultivate and grow customer relationships through excellent service delivery
  • Collaborate with sales teams on new system installations and retrofits

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years of management experience, preferably in fire protection service
  • Extensive knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler and suppression system operation
  • Ability to read and interpret system drawings, code requirements, etc.
  • Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with scheduling, dispatching and field service software
  • Familiarity with NFPA codes and local fire safety regulations
  • Prior hands-on experience as a fire protection technician is preferred

The ideal candidate will have a mix of technical fire protection knowledge, management experience, and excellent customer service skills to lead a productive service team.
