About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Shop Assistant / Warehouse Worker for our Rockville, MD location. This position will assist our Technicians properly stock their vehicles, will keep track of inventory, test and inspect fire extinguishers, and assist with customer pick ups.
Compensation
- Negotiable - Depends on Experience
- Eligible for quarterly profit sharing bonus
Job Duties
- Assigning tasks to team members and overseeing workflow to meet production schedules
- Taking the lead in resolving quality issues and problems
- Forklift operation
- Hydrostatic test and recharge fire extinguishers to specification
- Checks fire extinguishers for leaks and overall strength to ensure the safety and effectiveness of a pressurized fire extinguisher.
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
Qualifications
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required. Willing to train.
- Prior experience performing cylinder inspection and testing
- Current valid driver's license with 3 or less points no major violations
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Be knowledgeable of hand tools such as pipe wrenches, channel locks, drills, etc.
- Take initiative, pursue opportunities, and tackle goals.
- Have excellent attendance and can handle responsibility.
