Join Marmic Fire & Safety as an Alarm Technician in our Newark, DE site to inspect, test, service, and/or install alarm systems, or other applicable fire safety equipment and systems to include emergency lights all in accordance with applicable fire codes. In this role, you will cover a radius of about two hours around northern Newark, and you will leverage your past technical expertise as a trusted technician in residential, industrial and commercial buildings.

Specifically, you will:
- Provide assistance in performing assigned tasks for fire life safety system services across brands
- Perform technical support including testing on fire detection systems and field devices in accordance with all national and local standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of tests performed.
- Assist in responding to service calls (emergency and on-site) on an on-call basis.
- Perform troubleshooting techniques and minor repairs as directed
- Assist and observe installing new fire life safety systems and wiring techniques.
- Come the Newark office 1 - 2 times/week to restock your vehicle
- Work evenings and weekends as needed when when facilities are available
To be successful in this role, you should bring the following education, skills and experiences:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, associated low voltage systems preferred
- Knowledge or experience with various alarm systems including
- NICET certification preferred
- Ability to work on call every 8 - 10 weeks (on call for a week at a time.)
- Hold a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required
- A strong work ethic including a reliable, professional attitude and dedication to providing excellent service on every job
- Strong organizational, communication and documentation skills (we use Google Docs).
- Ability to manage time wisely and efficiently with little supervision in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools more than 50lbs and the ability to work in sometimes difficult positions like climbing ladders, high lift equipment, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Successfully pass extensive background check, drug screen and health screenings to be completed upon hire and throughout employment.
