Guardian Fire Protection Services, LLC., has been an industry leader for fire protection services in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area for over 40 years. We are based in Rockville, MD, with an additional office in Baltimore, MD and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen hood/duct systems. About the Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to join our team and we will train you to become a licensed, certified Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician. This position will learn how to inspect, repair and possibly install fire systems in restaurants. We are looking for hard working and hands-on individuals that want to learn a new trade in the fire protection industry. The fire protection industry is in high demand and it can be a long term career that can provide income in excess of $60,000 per year with training, certification and years of quality hard work.
Compensation
- Salary - Pay is hourly and the rate is negotiable depending on candidate's background and experience. Will be discussed during the interview.
- Potential Quarterly Bonuses
- All hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am, paid at the time and half rate for every day of the week
Qualifications
- A current valid driver's license with 3 or less points is required.
- Three years of licensed driving experience is required.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools such as channel locks and pipe wrenches.
- Willing to work varied hours, nights, early morning and weekend shift when needed.
- Capable and willing to learn and study about the different alarm systems in order to pass tests and become certified.
- Must have excellent attendance and can handle responsibility.
- Must be comfortable working on ladders 6 to 12ft and on lifts.
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Ability to work overhead and in unusual or small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
- Skills to communicate well with customers and explain the work being done and any repairs that are necessary.
- Skills to write well and be very detailed in your write up on service work.
- Must be well organized and be able to keep track of service tickets and process all required documents for each service performed.
