POSITION SUMMARY
This role serves as lead designer on larger, more complex fire protection projects.
What you’ll do:
- Completes more complex calculations, drawings and specifications related to fire suppression and detection systems for large projects
- Serves as lead on entire lifecycle of large projects as it pertains to fire protection including layout, permit procurement, field surveys, coordination, creation of fabrication lists, answering and assist with field generated questions, RFI creation, and as-builts
- Monitors long term project deadlines and ensures deliverables are met
- QCs work done by less -experienced designers. Mentors less-experienced team members
What you’ll need to be successful:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Associate’s Degree preferred
- NICET III minimum
- Represents Southland FP design to all project parties and attends in person meetings with owner’s, general contractors and AHJs
- Strong PM skills including creation of projections, FP design budget management, and ability to produce and follow change orders
- Ability to manage multiple designers to meet deliverables, deadlines, and objectives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong prioritization skills.
- Strong MS Office Suite skills, including Excel and Word
