Join our team of experienced technicians as a Fire Alarm Technician! As a Fire Alarm Technician you will perform inspection, testing and maintenance of fire alarm systems within our customers that range across the spectrum of industries within about a 2 hour radius of Richmond including industrial, government and hotels. We are a certified distributor of Gamewell FCI and work with Janus, Kidde-Fenwal and Fike.
How you will do it:
- Provide assistance in performing assigned tasks for fire life safety system services
- Perform technical support including testing on fire detection systems and field devices in accordance with all national and local standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of tests performed.
- Assist in responding to service calls (emergency and on-site).
- Provide needed assistance with troubleshooting techniques and perform minor repairs as directed.
- Assist and observe installing new fire life safety systems and wiring techniques.
- Perform minor repairs as directed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, associated low voltage and control wiring whether with fire alarms or HVAC will work
- Field service and computer experience preferred including working with systems like Google Docs
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools more than 50lbs
- Provide on call support about once/month for week
- Ability to work in sometimes difficult positions like climbing ladders, high lift equipment, working in crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Strong customer service skills
- Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Pass pre-employment background and substance abuse screening upon hire and throughout employment.
