WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
System Design and Layout:

· Create detailed drawings and blueprints that specify piping layouts, sprinkler head placements, and system specifications based on building architecture and fire safety requirements.
· Code Compliance and Standards:
· Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards (especially NFPA 13 for sprinkler systems) and local, state, and federal fire codes.
· Collaborate with engineers and architects to confirm that the fire sprinkler system meets all relevant safety regulations and performance requirements.
Project Coordination:
· Work closely with project managers, contractors, and field technicians to coordinate the installation process.
· Participate in site visits, inspections, and meetings to confirm design feasibility and address any issues.
Documentation and Calculations:

· Maintain documentation for project files, revisions, and approvals for record-keeping and compliance.
Client and Team Communication:
· Communicate with clients to discuss project scope, budget, and requirements.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including safety inspectors and local fire departments, to ensure designs are functional and effective.
QUALIFICATIONS
· An associate or bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD and Revit; experience with sprinkler-specific design software is often preferred.
· NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) certification, especially Levels II-IV in Water-Based Systems Layout, is highly desirable.
· Strong focus on precision and accuracy, especially in design, calculations, and code compliance.
· Ability to identify potential issues in designs and work collaboratively to resolve them.
