Summary
Experienced Fire Sprinkler Estimator calculates possible costs and gains of fire sprinkler projects. Will collect and analyze data according to a series of useful variables. Very comfortable with numbers and analytical data. Great attention to detail and excellent communication skills. The goal is to provide the company with accurate information that will help in operations and strategic planning.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Reviews construction documents and understands the scope of work for bidding purposes.
- Executes take-offs of construction documents.
- Inputs take-offs into a computer spreadsheet.
- Obtains bids from subcontractors.
- Prepares cost analysis on computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
- Where predetermined standard(s) are not available, makes an estimate.
- Inform the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer databases.
- Communicate with homeowners, customers, purchasing agents, and contractors over the phone as well as by email.
- Emphasis on communication and sales.
- Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Attends departmental meetings as required.
- Photocopies documents and plans.
- Must possess excellent collaboration skills, communication skills, ethical conduct, time management skills and be very thorough.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
