Guardian Fire Protection Services, LLC., has been an industry leader for fire protection services in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area for over 40 years. We are based in Rockville, MD and have an excellent team of employees who are responsible for the design, installation, and inspection of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, and kitchen hood/duct systems. We have an extensive customer base with over 10,000 fire systems that we perform recurring inspection and repair services throughout the region. Job Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for providing the full range of Human Resources support to their assigned business group. The HR Manager will partner with leadership to provide comprehensive services including counseling, coaching and guidance while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and policies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to legal compliance, recruitment & selection, policies & procedures, training & career development, performance management, compensation administration, organizational development, employee relations, projects & initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret and ensure compliance and administration of employment laws and policies.
- In partnership with the corporate recruiter, manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure positions are filled on a timely basis with highly qualified candidates.
- Implement and monitor Human Resources policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage training, development and succession planning activities, ensuring appropriate plans are in place for key employees.
- Identify and analyze internal and external trends, determining training needs for the site and translate the requirements into training and development programs.
- Manage the talent management process to include analysis of potential talent gaps and development of career plans.
- Anticipate workforce planning / management issues and develop workforce strategies.
- Manage the performance management process, ensuring clear communication to the organization, compliance, consistency and objectivity.
- Provides leadership to ensure performance review evaluations are administered fairly and effectively.
- Support, implement and maintain appropriate compensation and benefit processes and programs.
- Partners with leadership in solving work related issues, giving or obtaining coaching/counseling, developing and implementing solutions and evaluating results.
- Provide guidance and direction to managers for issue resolution and improved employee performance.
- Advocate, promote and effectively manage the work environment, evaluating the site culture and employee relations issues; and ensure that management is aware of and proactively responds to employee engagement issues.
- Manage business and HR-related projects/initiatives and drive their implementation in alignment with the business strategy.
Knowledge, Education, & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional Human Resources experience.
- Previous experience in working within a fast paced, commercial / industrial service industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal laws and governmental compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and progressive practices of human resources management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written), interact, and influence with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrated use of sound judgment and ability to make decisions in a fair & consistent manner.

Compensation
