The Opportunity with McKinstry
We are adding an Account Executive to our growing Fire Protection division in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will acquires new customers and nurtures relationships with existing customer base. You will also assembles accurate budgets and proposals with a clear scope of work based around the customers’ specifications and schedule. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:
- Build new customer relationships through sound business development practices.
- Nurture existing customer base.
- Secure contracts by leveraging new and existing customer relationships.
- Foster clear communication between the customers and the construction team.
What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based software systems required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required.
- Experience with Fire Protection systems preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience leading and closing sales required; experience within the construction industry highly desired.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals and
- estimates required.
- Knowledge of conceptual estimating preferred.
- Washington State ITT, Nicet Level II or greater in Inspections, testing and Maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of all applicable codes and standards required.
- Understands and able to correctly interpret RFP packages including all associated drawings, specifications required.
- Able to identify and effectively communicate any risks associated with project type, customer/GC, construction type, schedule and market trends required
- Skilled in negotiation, active listening, rapport building, and conflict resolution
- required.
- Skilled in effective qualification of opportunities required.

The pay range for this position is $75,870.00- $128,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
